new art

I have always had art in me - I've loved all types of art ever since I was little. So, lately, I have gotten back into one of my favorite types - pen and ink. I love all types, my moods I think dictate what type I end up doing. So I have been going crazy with all different types of drawings. Many are Zentangle, which in SO MANY WAYS, is a jumping off point for me. I start with it and go, or start with something and end up back at doing zentangle
Here are ome of my favorite things - drawings, photos, quilts...my works of art with a splash of a few of my daughter's stuff in there too....

My flicker Stuff

This site - I Am The Diva  - she has weekly zentangle challenges and it's a lot of fun. I do them aside from my other drawings, and although I'm busy with work, I really try to keep up with them.
I'm starting my flicker account and uploading my drawings, so, in case you wonder, you can see my art too.
Busy week coming up - 54 hours of work. Today (Tuesday) was my only day off and I totally enjoyed it having wine and pizza with a friend, and sitting in the hot tub watching shooting stars tonight. I am a home-body and love to be at home. It takes me having to almost force myself to get out when I'm not having to go to work. BUT I made myself go and I am SO GLAD!

Another idea is one I use also to help me spark and idea of what to draw, however I find it gives me ideas but i have yet to actually do one of her challenges. I love her stuff though... Check it out... daisy yellow Daily Paper Prompts

new blogger

Well, this is a first for me - I've decided to blog. So bear with me while I try to muddle my way through. To tell you more about me is a longer story than most people want to sit through. To summarize, I'm a cancer survivor, a 2 time divorcee, have a grown up beautiful intelligent daughter who has become my best friend. I love nature, photographing it even more. Sewing(quilting) is my true love, an enjoy just about any kind of arts; I can do just about anything Martha (stewart) can do if I have the time.
I am a full time RN in an oncology unit - I have great co-workers and some are my friends. I've lost both my parents now, have a brother whom I occasionally talk with, to catch up, an even greater sister-in-law because she's tolerated him and kept him in line which is a feat in itself.
I have chemo brain - even after 11 years -- LOL don't ever let anyone tell you its not true, because it is. And as I age, I realize that the age related memory issue is just about as bad as the chemo brain. Compound them together with stress, fatigue of being overworked and you get me - a babbling idiot. Sometimes its frustrating to not be able to name objects as simple as a teapot, other times you have to laugh at me (and myself) at telling my daughter to either "mow the carpet" or "take out the garage"... gotta love it. After all, if you can't laugh at yourself, what's left?
So here I go.. I'll share with you my art - photography, papers, fabrics, and whatever else comes along the way.  So, hold on, you're in for a bumpy ride!
